While the design process is often though to be a solely creative one, the reality is that to achieve a successful build, the process must be an organised, strategic and methodical one too. We customise our 6 interior design work stages for your project and run these in line with the RIBA Plan of Work on both our refurbishments and new build projects.

We will work with you through all 6 stages from concept to completion or if you prefer, we can consult on individual stages as your project progresses. Looking for some consultancy or advice for your own projects? Call us on +44 [0]141 348 7670 or email us for more information.

6 Key Stages of an Interior Design Project:

1. Feasibility

This initial phase of the project includes preliminary studies, finding out more about you and your design ambitions for the project. Here we leverage our knowledge and experience to explore the creative, financial and practical feasibility of your site or concept, evaluating its potential with you to achieve the optimum outcome

2. Concept Design

This is where we work with you to develop initial plans and designs for the project, visiting site to understand the location and provenance of the building or opportunity. We present you with drawings, sketches, & moodboards, along with ideas on initial materials & finishes to explore the optimum plans and design styles for the project

3. Design Development

This stage of the project is where we start to turn your ideas into reality, finalising the interior architecture, space planning, furniture layouts, lighting, materials & finishes. We will present these to you with detailed sample boards, drawings & visualisations, along with comprehensive Main Contract & FF&E schedules

4. Technical Design

Once the Design Development stage is signed off, we move on to complete all the technical CAD drawings required for the construction and implementation of the design, along plans, sections and elevations. We also complete all the shopfit and casegood drawings & packages to facilitate manufacturing by specialist subcontractors

5. Production Information

During this stage we work with the project manager to ensure that they have all the information necessary to put the project out to tender. We will co-ordinate with other design team consultants and issue the full interior finishes schedules and furniture, fittings and equipment [FF&E] data sheets to enable the tender process.

6. Tender & Mobilisation

During Tender & Mobilisation, we work with the Design Team and Main Contractor to deliver the most efficient tender and procurement process for the project. We will value engineer our specifications as required and finalise the programme with the main contractor to ensure the project comes in on time and on budget.
