Distillery II is a bold, cross-disciplinary project that fuses architecture, interiors, sound engineering, branding and precision delivery. In collaboration with audio legends Harris Grant, OCCA transformed a raw industrial shell into a state-of-the-art music production facility where every detail supports the creativity and innovation of it's artists.
Distillery II Technical & Creative Integration
The brief was ambitious – to transform a basic industrial unit in Bristol into a purpose built, world-class music production facility… a sonic powerhouse where creative energy, acoustic precision, and visual identity converge to elevate the art of making, recording and performing music.
Creative architecture & interiors combined with the expert collaboration of the Harris Grant team was crucial to realising the vision of the Distiller Team and the multi-purpose spaces that support the technical areas of the project.
Distillery II Our Approach
Our design strategy centred around creating a multitude of spaces that perform technically and inspire artistically. We developed a unique concept that balanced raw industrial character with layered materiality, bespoke lighting, and brand-driven detailing.
OCCA’s product and furniture designers crafted bespoke studio desking, racking systems, lighting and acoustic panelling all shaped to support the unique demands of a music production workflow.
To bring this vision to life, the OCCA Procurement team delivered the entire scheme as a turnkey solution, handling everything from specification and product development to sourcing & logistics; installation and final styling.
The result is a cohesive and fully activated creative environment: intelligently designed, flawlessly executed, and ready to perform from day one.
Distillery II Festival Garden
Hidden within the industrial framework of Distillery II lies the Festival Garden -a playful, unexpected retreat inspired by the spirit of Glastonbury. This immersive space was designed with extraordinary attention to detail, creating an inviting zone for creative pause, connection, or informal collaboration.
Far more than a breakout area, the Festival Garden functions as a backstage hangout, alternative filming spot, and atmospheric retreat. It’s an escape within the building that celebrates OCCA’s ability to design and deliver creative spaces that work hard, feel effortless, and are full of character.

The attention to detail, the quality of the spaces... every detail is so well considered. It’s rare to find a studio that’s this technically advanced and so full of character.
