Discover OCCA’s concept for a branded residence in Lisbon, where hotel-led residential design is rooted in the city’s heritage, craft and contemporary hospitality culture.
How it began Designing the future of hotel-led living
Lisbon is a city of thresholds – between Europe and the Atlantic, heritage and modernity, local craft and global culture. It is a natural setting for a new generation of branded residences.
Our concept explores the fusion of hotel design with residential living, creating interiors that feel deeply connected to the city, while delivering the comfort, service and the emotional connection expected in both personal accomodation and contemporary hospitality.
Rooted in Lisbon’s architecture, materiality and cultural rhythm, the design blends heritage detail with modern restraint – creating a branded residence concept that feels authentic, memorable and commercially relevant.
Inspiration & Influences Our approach
Creating a branded residence in Lisbon is more than simply designing a beautiful place to stay. It’s about shaping a lifestyle-led destination that feels rooted in the city, aligned with guest & owner expectations and is commercially relevant for operators. developers and investors.
Our approach began with Lisbon’s layered identity, its heritage architecture, tiled façades, calçada paving, terracotta rooftops, Atlantic light and relaxed hospitality culture. These influences informed a design language that balances local character with the comfort, service and refinement expected from hotel-led residential living.
By blending crafted detail, warm materiality and contemporary restraint, our concept creates interiors that feel authentic, elevated and deeply connected to place, designed to support both the emotional guest experience and the long-term brand distinction.
Happy Endings The Results
What we love about this concept is the balance between softness and structure. Lisbon feels historic, relaxed and quietly vibrant all at once, and our design holds that same spirit - warm, crafted, refined and full of life.
