This showhome concept unfurls a distinct Scandic influence throughout the interiors.

Typically creating homes which are light and bright yet cosy, this contemporary design style balances functionality with aesthetics. Relaxed, inviting and fun, this concept interior shows a contemporary Danish design style, set in the light and modern architecture of this Copenhagen Studio Apartment.

The summery Copenhagen Studio Apartment concept drew influence from a vast collection of new Scandinavian design brands and internationally renowned Danish design classics, in addition to the contemporary pastel colours and tones which were beginning to emerge in interior design in 2014.

Crisp white architecture and polished concrete floors combine with contemporary full height windows, creating bright and inviting spaces with an urban feel. The layering of materials, via the furnishings, brings warmth and texture ensuring that these simple wall and floor finishes provide the perfect backdrop for this carefully considered interior design concept.

Furniture from Scandinavia is mixed with other British and European pieces. Soft shapes and rich upholstery in wool fabrics mix with a palette of matt laminate finished in white, light natural timbers, and accent colours in greys, pastel green, and pinks. Copper tones bring warmth. An eclectic mix of individual pieces creates an informal style with an evolved feel. Curved forms, a variety of staggered heights and stacking furniture pieces further enhance this. The simplicity of the materials palette is true to the Scandic design style.

Accessories are layered generously throughout the open plan spaces, adding to the relaxed feel. Light timbers, coloured glass, copper accents and pastel colours are curated throughout the lounge, dining, home office and bedroom spaces, bringing this playful space to life.

This urban, Scandic home interior concept brings together the best of contemporary Danish design, creating a welcoming and fun Copenhagen Studio Apartment suited to an open plan layout through its coherent design approach.
