Description
Courtyard by Marriott Heathrow will be constructed on an existing site close to Heathrow Airport.
An existing office building will be converted and an extension of equal size and proportion will be added. The new property will offer 244 bedrooms, ground floor public areas, meeting spaces and a fitness suite all in line with the Courtyard by Marriott brand. It will then be further supplemented with the addition of banqueting and conferencing facilities, a sky bar and rooftop spa.
Our hotelier clients are local to the Heathrow area and this as such will be a showcase property for them. They anticipate there will be a great use of the banqueting and conferencing suite, with a particular focus on the prestigious Indian wedding market. Whilst Marriot has a very clear directive on the core elements of their branded design, our client brief on the spaces which sit outside of the brand was to push the boundaries of the Courtyard product to ensure an elevated end result which will appeal as a wedding venue.
The Courtyard by Marriott product is Mediterranean influenced and sits in the mid-price range of the Marriott portfolio. Developing this signature design style to sit comfortably alongside the potential opulence and grandeur of an Indian wedding saw the balance of the materials palette developed. Our concept for the ground floor public areas saw the ratio of upholstered furniture was increased, the extent of solid surface and textured timber wall finishes expanded and the quantity and styles of feature lighting increased. Textured wallcoverings add light and pattern.
In the furniture selection, mixed metals in brass and black were introduced. The Mediterranean blues and neutral tones in the accent fabrics were developed to a bolder palette in rich velvet, linen and leather finishes. Upholstered furniture in soft contemporary shapes sits alongside marble and timber tables with brass and black detailing.
Due to complete in 2019, the elevated offering at the Courtyard By Marriott Heathrow is sure to impress.
