Description
Opened in 2011 this Holiday Inn Express hotel is a new build property situated close to Heathrow Airport’s new Terminal 5.
Occa Design was appointed to provide a full interior design service for the hotel, creating public areas and bedrooms under the Generation 3 brand standards. Having been instrumental in the brand design of the Gen 3 bedrooms and having recently completed the Holiday Inn Woking conference rooms for Crimson Hotels, Occa was a natural choice to implement the design at this site.
Crisp white architectural finishes and walnut timbers create strong clean lines throughout the open plan Public Area, giving a corporate edge to the space. Black accents, warm tile floor finishes and chrome detailing further enhance this.
A mix of bar lounge and restaurant seating breaks the space up with tall planters and timber screens creating natural breaks in the flow of the room. Vibrant accent colours in turquoise, green and yellow add a contemporary touch and bring a lightness to the space, softening the corporate edge and creating a welcoming ambience. Black and white contemporary photography with an air travel concept adorns the walls creating a stylish edge suited to the strong lines and crisp detailing of the interiors.
Bedrooms are completed in line with the Holiday Inn Express Generation 3 brand standards, in blue and purple with walnut timbers. With rooms purpose-built to the brand specifications, furniture layouts and casegoods, detailed and provided by Occa Design, are brand aligned which ensured a smooth rollout of the IHG proposition across the hotel site.
Due to its close proximity to Heathrow Airport, this busy hotel experiences a huge variety of customers on short stays, from well-versed business travellers to tourists with clear expectations of the Holiday Inn Express brand. The hotel exceeds the expectations of all guests, supported by the high standard of the interiors.
