INTERIOR DESIGN & PROCUREMENT PROJECTS Scandic Festive Styling

The family lounge, dining space and kitchen of this stylish home were refurbished by Occa Design in 2012.  The team then returned in November, dressing the home for the festive season with our Scandic Festive Styling concept.

The initial refurbishment works saw the application of a contemporary feature wall covering with a library print paired with neutral wall finishes, warm timber floors and a red brick fireplace,  creating a stylish back drop for a collection of New England furniture pieces and design classics.  White finishes, coupled with aged timber, and soft shapes give a sense of informality to the home.  Red accents add richness to the fresh style. 

The finished spaces are contemporary, cosy and inviting, perfect for a young family and flexible enough for the demands of family life. 

Our Scandic Festive Styling concept created fantastic Christmas décor for this home.  A huge tree fills the space, simply dressed in red and white baubles, with patterned stars and white lights.  Lanterns and tealights in white and red dress the fireplace and side unit adding warmth and softening the light. Textured wool throws and cushions with festive patterns add to the contemporary style of the rooms.   

The dining table has been dressed for a festive meal.  A mix of red and white tableware, candles and table runner are accented with simple scandic detailing in the prints, table linen and the greenery.  In the kitchen the table has been set for an informal dinner.  The light, washed timber of the dining table is echoed in the accessories and the cutlery.  Neutral textiles are accented with a touch of red.  A mix of Scandic prints appear in the red and white tableware.  Pine cones, timber tree decorations, greenery and festive string finish the look perfectly. 

Set of the festive season this home is simply dressed, welcoming and fun.  The relaxed approach to the styling has created an eclectic look in keeping with the Scandic ethos of beauty in simplicity, but the thoughtful layering of the concept has ensures the style also feels inviting and festive.
